News from Beam Park Councillors Trevor McKeever and Matthew Stanton.

Following meetings with FCC and Havering staff on New Road, Beam Park, Labour Councillors are pleased to see improvements in the street cleansing service, but note that there is more to do.

“We have walked up New Road from Dovers Corner to Dagenham with staff from Havering and the contractor, FCC as sending in online reports and photos just wasn’t getting the message across. Thankfully we now have an action plan agreed and we will be reviewing it in January to look at the progress made,” said Councillor McKeever.

Councillor Stanton has noticed improvements already and told the Havering Daily: “I have seen the FCC staff out clearing weeds and accumulated dirt from verges, as well as litterpicking. We have also asked the Council to include the large areas at Dovers Corner, where the subway used to be, for consideration in the new ‘Let’s love Where We Live’ campaign.”

Both councillors were keen to encourage residents to report issues online via havering.gov.uk, “From flytipping, to street lighting, to issues with weeds, every member of our community can help to highlight to the council that they have noticed an issue”, said Councillor Mckeever.
