This waa a true community evening that saw hundreds come out to join in the fun!

When the council announced it couldn’t fund any Christmas events this year, the residents of Harold Hill gathered together to make sure their local community had an event to not only enjoy, but be proud of.

Yesterday, the team of organisers-Jan Sargeant,Alex Vella, Justin Vella, Carol Cook and Ricky Holland put on the best Christmas light switch on Havering has seen so far! Despite the miserable conditions, hundreds came out to join in the fun.

A huge thanks to Glazefix who sponsored the whole event, to Scott and Tammy from JFF Security who did all the security free of charge and to our local police officers led by Chief Inspector Charlie Routley who all came in on their day off to support this amazing event.

Well done to the ever entertaining Ricky Holland who was the DJ for the afternoon and did a fantastic job keeping the crowds singing and dancing. A big shout out to Bill’s Burger van who was also there to feed the crowds and all the stall holders who stood in the rain for hours to support their local community.

The lights were switched on by the team at Harold Hill Deer Aid, alongside our Mayor Councillor Gerry O Sullivan and Chief Inspector Routley, with a fabulous count down from Ricky Holland!

Even Father Christmas and his special elves, Spiderman and The Grinch all came to Harold Hill to put a smile on the community’s face!

Well done to all!
