Harold Hill’s Starshine Stage School Reach Championship National Finals.
Congratulations to Starshine Stage School based in Myplace, Harold Hill for their amazing achievement last weekend in reaching the British Theatre Dance Association’s (BTDA) Championship National finals.
The championship hold five heats throughout the year across the UK for dance schools to enter. Starshine attended with 15 students who had qualified in the heats. They are a locally run family dance school with the main principle being Pamela Schild, her daughter – Petrina Edwards and her granddaughter – Amy Edwards.
The dance school has been running for 54 years. Poppy Dent-Jones (age 13) an inter dancer, achieved champion in Greek, runner up in Ballet and 3rd in modern and National, an Irish dance choreographed by Olivia Graydon a local Irish dancer now performing with Celtic illusions in Sydney. This year was Natalie Towner’s last year as a senior and she achieved Senior Greek champion, 4th in Acro and 4th in character. India-Rose James a junior dancer achieved 4th in Greek and Lillly Triggs, a junior dancer achieved a 3rd in tap.
Starshine told the Havering Daily: “We are endless proud of our team and the hard work and dedication they have put into last weekend! Congratulations to all for making this years final. We had a great weekend making memories, laughing and taking it all in. The starshine team are so proud of ever dancer who represented our team.
