Several Lakeside Car Parks Shut Due to Unattended Rucksack Left.

Several of the rear car parks at Lakeside shopping centre were closed around 10.30am this morning after reports of a suspicious package found.

Police were quick to respond and several of the car parks were briefly closed off as officers examined the backpack left.

An Essex Police spokesperson told the Havering Daily: “We were called to reports of a suspicious package at Lakeside Shopping Centre at about 10.30am on Wednesday 20 November.

“Officers attended the scene to inspect the package, a backpack, and established it posed no threat by 11am.

“We’d like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our work.”
