Man arrested after assaulting a police officer and for possession of an offensive weapon.

A man was arrested on Dagenham Heathway on Tuesday 12 November, after he was found in possession of an offensive weapon and then went on to assault a police officer.

At 15:45 police were conducting high visibility robbery patrols on the Heathway.Whilst on patrol, officers noticed a man acting suspiciously. The man was spoken to by officers and was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and assault on an emergency service worker.

 The man has been released under investigation, whilst the investigation continues.
