Officer assaulted whilst assisting social services in Hornchurch.

On Monday 28 October Havering officers were assisting social services when one of their officers was assaulted.

Police were called to an address in Hornchurch to assist social services take a young person to their new secure placement outside of the borough. It was whilst assisting social services, the young person lashed out at officers, kicking at them.

Fortunately no serious injuries were caused and the young person was not arrested.

The officer is now being supported by their line managers and an a referral to Operation Hampshire has been submitted.
