Residents urged to contact Havering Council and object over planning application for Rainham Lodge Farm Quarry.
Residents in Rainham and across the borough have been urged to email Havering Council to object the planning application for a quarry expansion in Rainham.
A planning application went in for the expansion of the current quarry at Ayletts Farm, that is just of the already troubled Launders Lane. Brett Aggregates has been quarrying across Havering for 60 years and state that to maintain a local source of building materials, a new source at Lodge Farm will need to be established.
The company have estimated that the new site will see 96 lorries a day travel to and fro the two sites.
Residents between Upminster and Rainham have strongly objected to this planning application for many reasons including the noise, pollution, increase in traffic on such small roads and the awful impact it will have on our wildlife in the area.
Launders Lane is already one of the borough’s most troubled areas and the addition of a new quarry with nearly a 100 lorries a day coming along the small country roads would cause further problems for residents living in the area.
If you would like to object to this planning application, please email planning@havering.gov.uk and quote reference P1251.24 before October 22.
