Ongoing proactive work by Hornchurch Town Centre PCSO sees shoplifter arrested and stolen goods recovered.

Retailers in Hornchurch Town Centre have been working closely with local PCSO Gilham to track down shoplifters coming into the area to steal from their stores. They have an excellent relationship with PCSO Gilham who works tirelessly everyday to track down thieves and make sure they are caught and arrested.

Yesterday, (8 October) Neighbourhoods officers arrested another shoplifter thanks to ground work under taken by PCSO Gilham.

The PCSO was provided information that a well known shoplifter was in the area. She was quick to stop the man in question and supported by colleagues who came to provide assistance.

After numerous enquiries by officers, a 59 year old male was arrested for shoplifting and the stolen items were returned.

Great work by PCSO Gilham and Neighbourhoods officers.

The police message is clear:

‘To all those visiting Hornchurch intent on stealing – we are working closely with local businesses and we will take action against you if you are caught stealing.’
