A 61 year old man is in hospital in a potentially life threatening condition after a collision on Airfield Way in Elm Park earlier today.

The incident happened at 2.21pm and involved a vehicle just outside of Tesco.

Police and London’s Air Ambulance responded quickly and the area was cordoned off and closed both ways.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests so far.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at 14:21hrs to Airfield Way, Hornchurch, after reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

Officers responded with LAS and London’s Air Ambulance.

The 61-year-old man has been taken to hospital. His condition is being treated as potentially life-threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. There have been no arrests.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
