Community day this Sunday to celebrate the skatepark!

Rom skatepark is celebrating 10-years since it was listed Grade II by Historic England.

There will be a community day; ‘Rom Revival’  on Sunday 6th October at Rom skatepark, Upper Rainham Road to raise awareness of the iconic park and to aid its revival. A broad group of craftspeople, motor enterprises and enthusiasts, designers and charities are gathering at Rom to support it. The park will be open for BMX riding, skateboarding and scooting with food, music and a licensed bar too. Around the park there will be classic cars, fire engines, custom and classic motorcycles, main motor dealers and various stalls selling art, merch’ and skateboards. There will also be live graffiti and younger artists can try their hand at graffiti on Rom’s Doodle Wall.

The gates open at 11.00 a.m., close at 5.00 p.m. There is free parking and admission is only £2 per person (riding and skating will be restricted depending on visitor numbers throughout the day).

Rom skatepark has been owned by Rowley Cardrome Limited since 1995. Following a change in tenancy last year, the skatepark is now being operated by a group of volunteers through a not-for-profit company, Rom Skatepark Limited, with the landlord’s consent.
