Local community champion gains charity status for PTSD 999.
‘Gary is a much loved and respected member of our community who has dedicated his life to supporting those with PTSD.’
Gary Hayes from Elm Park has been supporting members of our community and so many others across the country by providing services that help those who serve and protect us. Gary is a kindhearted, selfless family man from Havering who is a co-founder and CEO of the Charity PTSD999 but is also a loving husband and courageous father of three.
Gary takes care of those he loves very generously and extends his kindness to the community and those in need without hesitation. He also never fails to cook his family a traditional roast dinner every Sunday whilst helping others, seven days a week.
Gary co-founded the charity PTSD999 back in 2015 and has gained charitable status in 2024. A huge victory for Gary and the team.
PTSD999 was founded in 2015 by two friends, Gary and Simon, both of whom served in the Military and Public Sector. Their service left them with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and they quickly realized there was a gap in accessible support for Emergency Services personnel and their families living with PTSD.
Determined to make a difference, they created PTSD999—a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to providing support, sourcing and funding treatment, and raising awareness of the profound impact PTSD can have on someone’s life.
Their mission is clear: support those who serve our communities, raise awareness about PTSD in the Emergency Services, and break the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
“You are not alone in this journey.” – PTSD999
PTSD999 provides support, sources and funds treatment and training and raises awareness of the impact trauma has on a person’s life.
“PTSD is one of the invisible issues. PTSD 999 highlights the pain and strength that we need to get through one day at a time.
Being there for people who suffer from PTSD is a lifeline, and I am eternally grateful for this charity being there.” – a supporter of PTSD999.
PTSD999 is dedicated to supporting emergency service workers dealing with the challenges of PTSD. Whether you’re a first responder, a family member, or an ally, they’re here to provide vital resources, raise awareness, and build a community of support. https://www.ptsd-999.com/
