Armed police were seen in Havering this morning after reports that part of a road in Collier Row had been cordoned off.

The Met police confirmed to the Havering Daily that officers were conducting arrest enquiries at property on Hillrise Road.

“We can confirm that on the morning of Tuesday, 3 September officers from the Met’s East Area Command conducted arrest enquiries at a residential address on Hillrise Road, Collier Row.

A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill, rape, possession of a firearm and criminal damage. He remains in custody at an east London police station.

This follows allegations of serious sexual assault inside the venue involving people known to each other.

A scene remains in place while enquiries continue.

There is no wider risk to the public.”
