At the Roundhouse pub on Porters Avenue on Saturday 31 August, a special fayre was held to raise money for charities that support children with cancer.

The event organised by Melissa a Galaxy Pageant, was also attended by Sue Hayden from the Ricky Hayden Memorial and nine year old Dean, a cancer survivor.

Dean is a truly remarkable boy who was diagnosed with a tumour at the age of seven and half and underwent a difficult time to beat it. He went through many rounds of treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy and being the little fighter he is, came through it to now be cancer free.

Dean was at the event on Saturday to help raise money for charities that support children with cancer and really is an incredible inspiration to so many in our community.

Anti knife crime campaigner Sue was able to donate a Daniel Baird bleed bag to the Roundhouse pub.
