Monkeying Around at The Mercury

Entertaining the kids for six long weeks can be a daunting prospect, but never fear Romford’s Mercury shopping centre has some great fun days out for all the family.

You love your kids. You love shopping. But combining the two can be tricky! Here at The Mercury we want your trip to our centre to be as pleasant as possible. Which is why we’ve got a host of things on to make life for you a little bit easier, and shopping for them a little bit more fun!

But there are plenty of fun free ways to fill the days before the term starts again so join us for a summer of silliness, exploring, animals and fun!

On Monday 19^th August make a date with Exotic Explorers, a local animal centre from 11am – 3pm, you can handle and come up close by interacting with three animals for just £10. Animals not your thing? Head on over to Café Della Continental on level two for a free crafting session where you can make a jungle inspired collage from 10am – 12pm, free and all and materials are supplied.

On Tuesday 20^th write a postcard to Marvin or Maurice our resident cheeky monkeys joined by our local artists. Tell them about your travels, or your favourite past times, post into our jungle post-box for a chance to win a fabulous prize.

Wednesday 21^st offers a free Storytime session with an explorer!, 10am – 11:30am., free to join.

Party time will be in full swing on Thursday 22^nd August as Jelly Jade joins us to host a fun and interactive party session in Mc Donald’s. Grab your party frock and dancing shoes from  11am – 2pm, £2 per child which includes a happy meal, face painting and more! Book your ticket at The Mercury’s helpdesk.

Friday 23^rd and Saturday 24^th August we present inactive shows and Monkeying Around Disco’s with Sophisticated Entertainment, to make sure you don’t miss out on the action head to the event zone on level one between 11am and 4pm on both days.

Marvin’s Great Create Kids Club is a free craft and activity club aimed at children, which takes place one weekend a month. All the activities are free and are assisted by our friendly team. You don’t have to register in advance to join in the fun, just turn up on the day. Enjoy a host of fun activities or crafts, please note children need their parent or carer to stay with them for the duration of the club and all summer activities.
