MP’s campaign to restore Rainham Village.
Margaret Mullane the Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham has followed up her campaign to improve and care for the historic Rainham Village with Havering Council.
The area opposite the former Bell pub in Bridge Road Rainham was in a sad and run down state several months ago. The bench had collapsed and vegetation had grown over the flooring making it hazardous for pedestrians especially when it has been raining.
Margaret and her local Labour team members, Fay Hough and Sue Watson took the issue to HaveringCouncil and the problems were quickly dealt with. A new bench has been installed and the maintenance work completed.
Margaret told the Havering Daily: “I was impressed with the way Havering Council responded to the problem.Unfortunately, a tree has now fallen across the same footpath. Again I reported this to Havering and today received confirmation that the Council are on to this and will clear the tree.
The heart of Rainham Village is a special and historic place and it’s so important that maintenance standards are kept up.”
