Who needs police officers when we have our keyboard crusaders to save the day.
There is rarely a time when police officers and policing is not making the headlines in some form or another.
There are armies across the country ready to come to action when these headlines come to fruition. These armies are well trained in social media combat, they have a wealth of keyboard experience, they are seasoned campaigners who have fought endless battles behind their keyboards and have faced the most strenuous times sitting on their armchairs.
The events over the last week have warranted a call to these armies to come in and save the day and give their worldly knowledge of just how these situations should have been handled and of course, every single one of these well trained keyboard crusaders, knows just how to step in and handle the situation the right way-without every having been in the police or actually doing the job.
What has happened over the last week has once again highlighted how a short social media clip of an incident is not in fact the way to start accusations before knowing or indeed seeing the whole incident as it unfolds. Finger pointing, name calling, cheap shot taking, all peaked last week. These well trained policing experts, who have never served as officers, were reaching record breaking speed to get to their keyboards and add their view on what had transpired.
Policing is one of the toughest and most challenging job in our society today. It is the most scrutinised and filmed role possible. Officers star in more social media posts that Keanu Reeves in his latest John Wick 1,2,3,4,5…….film.
It is a job that involves making split second decisions that could and frequently does, save lives. It is a job that demands the most from a person both physically and mentally and leaves individuals with long term scars. Those scars could be a physical scar but also a mental one that the person will carry with them for many years to come. It is a job where officers stare death in the face frequently.
Unless you have worn that uniform, you do not have the knowledge to point the finger. Social media clips frequently are misinterpreted and when the full picture of the incident is revealed, reality is the exact opposite of what was portrayed by our keyboard crusaders.
Today, once again police officers will be out in our communities, tackling some of the toughest situations possible. Let us remember the vital job they do in our communities and how many of them save lives that never warrants a mention for our mighty keyboard army.

I support the Police, they do the most difficult job in society.
Does the person who wrote this article consider the mainstream media to be (to a certain extent) responsible for the reactions of ‘keyboard warriors’?
I hope that an ‘old school’ investigative journalist might be able to find out why certain media outlets didn’t broadcast the ‘full’ video of the incident to provide context.
But that ‘ain’t gonna happen, is it?
they do actually
as the press then repeat what’s used as words that aren’t acceptable from
mental patient, muslim Terrorist, the Que@r community, calling people fascist tor racist, who are not, BAME ,LGBTQI+, Far right for those with right wing views), gam@on, Kar@n,
the perpetrator for the accused, or the victim for the accuser before a jury has found someone guilty yet, Illegal immigrant rather than migrant its their actions not them that’s illegal, calling someone with a rational fear to have a rational fear such as so called trans phobia isn’t a irrational fear
or far right extremist
or re writing words such as changing what the Word Woman is, or changing PIE to minor attracted person or saying something isn’t a terrorist attack, when somethings said on the news to not be terrorism
or things that don’t exist not understanding the criminal law or things like riot police, shoot to kill ,self defence reasonable force to detain, corporate manslaughter
