Rainham Tesco launch special carrier bag bin to help local charity.
Staff at Rainham Tesco have stepped in to help their local community once again.
A appeal was put out on social media by Joe and Ann Norman from the local shop ‘Charity Begins at Home’ looking for any unwanted plastic bags to help them in their store. The much loved charity shop does an incredible job supporting those in need and Joe and Ann are well respected in the area.
Rainham Councillor Sue Ospreay heard the call for help and immediately stepped in to ask Tesco managers if they would help with the plastic bag appeal. Of course, the answer was yes and staff set about finding a way to help Joe and Ann.
Yesterday, a special bin was placed by the checkout tills that allows customers to pop along and get rid of any unwanted plastic bags they may have.
If you would like to add any plastic bags you need to get rid of, please pop along to Rainham Tesco and see the bin near the entrance by the tills.
Well done to Councillor Sue Ospreay who is an amazing community champion and all the staff at Rainham Tesco who are always the first in line to support their local community!
