A man was arrested in Romford yesterday for public order offences and not incidents outside a Hornchurch school.

The man was arrested in South Street, for a public order offence after he repeatedly swore at officers as they attempted to speak with him.  He remains in custody whilst he is being questioned about this matter.

He has not been arrested for any other offence.

Havering Police have added:

“We are aware of social media speculation linking this arrest to reported incidents in Albany Road, Hornchurch on Wednesday, 17 July. This is not correct and this sort of speculation is not helpful.”

Anyone with information about potential criminality should contact police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC so it can be assessed and acted on accordingly.
