Barking and Dagenham Safer Neighbourhood Teams will be launching their upcoming mission on Monday 15 July.

Under the ‘Meet Your Street’, the teams will be visiting one street, or multiple streets each week in their wards to engage with the local residents and businesses, taking enforcement action, engaging in a local way and offering crime prevention advice and relevant support. The focus will begin on areas prioritised with the most issues, which would benefit from police attention.  Officers aim to get to every street.

Superintendent David Rhodes said: “This provides a real opportunity for your local neighbourhood team to get out and meet as many people as possible, hear your concerns and work to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in your area.

‘Meet Your Street’ is designed to focus on hotspot areas with emphasis on focused patrols, deterring criminals, reducing crime and speaking with the local community.

During that week there will be increased patrols in that road, deterring criminals and reducing crime.”
