Havering has many beautiful green spaces-let’s keep them green.

On Saturday 22 June members of the Havering Daily team took to the streets of London to join in the Restore Nature Now march. The march had been organised by Chris Packham and saw nearly 100, 000 take to the streets to call for urgent action to restore our nature now before it is too late.

Hundreds of groups and organisations joined in this incredible march to demand that who ever wins the next General Election, puts the restoration of our wildlife and planet high on their agenda.

Chris Packham who lead the march from the front alongside actress Emma Thompson, said: “Nature is an enormous treasure and it is in our hands to restore it. But right now we are failing it.”

The march began in Park Lane and ended in Parliament Square where speeches were made to the large crowds. It was a peaceful march that saw people from every part of the country and every age from young to old, join in the call for the urgent restoration of our wildlife now.

Right across London everyday, wildlife is being destroyed. Trees cut and green spaces wiped out. Our wildlife is in rapid decline.

The Havering Daily team walked on behalf of Harold Hill Deer Aid who do a truly incredible job everyday rescuing our wildlife. The team of volunteers spend large parts of their week on call to rescue animals not just across Havering, but east London Essex too.

The walkers were divided into sections under -Wood, Water,Land and Air and covered every possible groups from the Woodland Trust to the League Against Cruel Sports, Campaign to Stop the Badger Cull, Hunt Saboteurs, Ocean Preservation, and so many others that all had one united message- Restore Nature Now.
