Format Each candidate will have an opening and closing statement of 2 minutes. During this time the other candidates cannot interrupt.
Each candidate will have 1 minute to answer each question raised. It is hoped everyone will focus positively on what they are offering, rather than negatively against other parties / candidates. It is expected candidates will not interrupt each other.
The Chair will monitor timings, with assistance from a colleague. The Chair will generally not allow “rebuttal” statements unless a candidate has been egregious in comments about another party or individual. The Chair will vary the order in which candidates are asked to respond, so that different candidates have the “last word” on a topic.
