Harold Hill Deer Aid-a Havering charity that rescues animals without violence or ramming them with vehicles.

Across East London an animal rescue charity-Harold Hill Deer Aid, run by a small team of volunteers, save endless animals daily. Animals such as foxes, badgers, crows, deer and stags amongst many others.

Havering is blessed to have a very large deer population that now sadly struggles to find a home due to the constant land development that is forcing these animals onto smaller and smaller spaces. Frequently they are found walking into significant roads such as the A12, or smaller residential roads where residents come face to face with these beautiful animals.

The charity volunteers are called daily to deal with deer in the road, stags with netting entangled all over them and trapped, or other difficult situations where the animal is found stressed and unsure what to do. The team work with a local vet, who comes out to support them and help them whenever the situation arises. They are often called to stags in the road that are scared and on the run.

The team work closely with many other local groups, and Transport for London and the Highways Agency amongst others. They rescue animals daily without the use of violence. Never have they used a tactic of hitting a stag or deer with a vehicle. Never have they rammed the animal with a car. This is not an option.

Animals seem to have no respect whatsoever in today’s society and their horrendous treatment as was highlighted last weekend, clearly proves this.
