Havering’s community gathered outside of the Town Hall in Romford yesterday to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. A special flag was raised outside the Town Hall to commemorate all those brave members of the armed forces who who took part in this historic event.

Led by Havering’s Mayor Councillor Gerry O’ Sullivan, special tributes were read and a prayer was said by Father Hinely to pay tribute to all those involved in the D-Day Landings.

Havering Council Leader Councillor Morgon was joined our veterans, flag bearers, members of the British Legion, Superintendent Simon Huchison from Havering Police, Andrew Rosindell, Margaret Mullane, Andrew Achilleos, Deputy Lieutenant Nick Bracken OBE, members of the Romford Synagogue, Sidra Naeem and members of Havering Islamic Cultural Centre, local councillors and Harold Hill community champion Jan Sargeant.
