Operation Sceptre-Local officers held a day of action to tackle knife crime and anti-social behaviour.

Havering Police Officers held an excellent high profile day of action on Friday 17 May, in Farnham Road, Petersfield Avenue and the Briar Road Estate, following concerns raised by local residents.

Officers worked alongside Havering Council Environmental Enforcement Officers led by Jane Eastaff who is very proactive across the borough, to conduct weapons sweeps and investigate illegal dumping. As schools finished for the day, officers set up a community road show by Elm Park, which educated the public on crime prevention and personal safety.

Inspector Mark Connolly, who leads the south neighbourhood policing team in Havering said:

“Our officer’s police Havering all year round, however days such as Friday are a good opportunity to carry out high profile activity to reassure local residents that we are taking their concerns seriously.

“Our New Met for London strategy puts community policing at the centre of our all policing, and I would like to reassure residents that we will always listen to their concerns and take action where we can.”
