Mayor’s special visit to Harold Hill birthday party.
Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn, yesterday visited a very special birthday party held at My Place in Harold Hill. The party was held to celebrate the first birthday of a Table Tennis Club run for people with Parkinson’s.
Colin who lives in Harold Hill, had organised a fortnightly table tennis club for locals to not only have the opportunity to play a sport, but to also make new friends. As the club became popular, Colin was asked if he would hold sessions for people with Parkinson’s. He did and the club became very popular and is now celebrating its first birthday!
This is a fantastic club that provides much enjoyment for those who attend. Giving them the chance to play table tennis that they all enjoy doing, but also to have a chat and make new friends.
Councillor Nunn was pleased to join locals as they played table tennis and chat with them about just how important local clubs are for the borough.
Well done to Colin for providing such a fantastic club and My Place for welcoming so many vital clubs to Harold Hill.
