Farmer Bailey brings sunshine to the Mercury!

On the hottest day of the year so far a team of young farmers from Wellgate farm together with young farmer Bailey and his family bought a cute cluster of animals to The Mercury to raise money for Bailey. 

 Eleven year old Bailey has been with Wellgate Community farm for several years and personally wanted to raise money as he’s currently undergoing treatment for stage four brain tumors and has a wishlist of adventures and memories that he would love to fulfill. 

 Shoppers dug deep into their pockets on Saturday as the four hour fundraiser at The Mercury raised a whopping £415. Bailey said:“ Thank you for everything today, it’s been the best day of my life!”

Bailey was kindly gifted cinema tickets for himself and his family from Premiere Cinemas and a gift voucher from The Entertainer during his visit.

Yesterday, Monday 13th May, Bailey underwent treatment on his tumors and we wish him and his family the very best during this challenging time.
