Rainham planning victory as mobile phone mast application rejected.
Residents of Rainham near the junction of Lambs Lane South, Ingrebourne Road and Wennington Road received some good news last week. A planning application for a massive mobile phone mast at the location has been rejected by Havering Council’s Planners.
Jon Cruddas, the Dagenham and Rainham MP had received representations from local residents setting out their objections to the planned mast. Jon supported the residents and made a formal objection to Havering Council’s Planning Department to the proposal to erect an almost 60 foot mast on the footpath close to the junction. The formal objection was on the basis that the mast and antennas would be visually intrusive.
Margaret Mullane, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham told the Havering Daily: “I am pleased that Havering Council has refused planning permission for the 17.5 metre mobile phone mast with 6 antennas, a transmission dish and equipment cabinets. This would have been of great detriment to the location and as Jon said, it would have been visually intrusive.”
