A Harold Hill bereaved mother has slammed London’s ongoing knife crime epidemic and urged the community to come together and support the family of 14 year old Daniel Anjorin who lost his life in the horrendous Hainault sword attack on Tuesday.Peguy kato who lost her son Champion Ganda 11 years ago, knows exactly what it is like to lose a child to knife crime. She told the Havering Daily: “This boy was on his way to school when he was killed. Our children are not safe anymore. They cannot even go to school now without being murdered.

“There are more parents now who have lost a child, more parents who will be truly heartbroken and will never recover from the death of losing Daniel. I know this pain. My family knows what it is like to be without their brother.

“It is important now that this community comes together and supports Daniel’s family during this terrible time. Nothing will stop their pain, but showing strength as a community will help them go forward.”

Daniel was on his way to school on Tuesday morning when he was struck with the sword and sadly killed. His death has shocked not just his community, but the entire capital.

Peguy added: “We all know knife crime is out of control on our streets. Myself and other bereaved mothers have been campaigning for years and no one listens to us or supports us. Knives and weapons like these are easily purchased, there is very little deterrent to stop people carrying knives, and we have no support from politicians. I’d like to hope that this will be the last we see of a vicious attack like this, but it won’t be.

“I hope Daniel’s community now supports this family. We must all support them.Their loss is indescribable. We must all unite against these crimes and show those who are willing to carry out attacks like these, that they are not wanted in our society. Stop murdering our children.”
