A fire broke out in a disused parish church on St Andrews Road in Romford in the early hours of this morning.

The ten pump fire broke out at 00.30 and was out at 3.01am. It has destroyed two floors, twenty metres by twenty metres of the building and ten percent of the roof was damaged by the fire.

A turntable ladder was used to help put out the fire.

Well done to our firefighters who were quickly on scene to extinguish the fire.
