Havering police warn residents to be vigilant following possible car parking scams across the borough.
Police officers in Havering are warning residents to be alert following possible scams across our car parks. Officers will be working with numerous car parks and the signage in a bid to stop scammers.
Information was received that there are individuals approaching people using the car parks, informing them of issues with the 30 minutes free parking and stating that the should re enter their vehicle details on the meter and use a payment card.
Police are urging residents who may be approached in this manner or a similar one-to please report immediately to the car parking management.
If you have been a victim of this scam, please report this to the police via met.police.uk or call 101. Or 999 if in an emergency or if the suspect is still at the location.
