Power cut in Hornchurch sees two supermarkets close and houses left without power for nearly three hours.
Tesco and Sainsbury’s both fell victims to a power cut that impacted many properties across Hornchurch. High winds battered the borough as trees fell and houses between Hornchurch town centre and Roneo Corner were left without power for nearly three hours.
Parts of Hornchurch town centre were left in complete darkness as shops and traffic lights suffered.Roads were empty as high winds impacted Havering.
UK Power informed customers that there was a fault and that it could take up to three hours to repair.
Power was restored just after 8pm.
