Labour representative responds to Rainham requests to enhance grassed amenity at The Glen.
Margaret Mullane, Labour Dagenham and Rainham Prospective Parliamentary Candidate has responded to requests from local Rainham residents to enhance the grassed amenity field at The Glen.
Residents reached out to Margaret to ask her to support their calls for seating to be provided at the recreation space at The Glen in Rainham village.
Margaret told the Havering Daily: “I am writing to Havering Council to ask that they install a bench at this location. Spaces such as this grassed area at The Glen are precious local areas that allow people to informally socialize, where you will see grandparents playing with their grandchildren and mums chatting.
I was impressed by the arguments from local people that adding a bench would enhance the recreation field and facilitate people to stay longer. Of course it’s important that we support organized sport and culture, but local public spaces where people can meet in a leisurely way are so vital for our well being.”
