Many of us take pride in our homes and the area we live in, many do not and they are the ones responsible for the fly tipping.’

Residents living on Crow Lane have hit out at lazy fly tippers who dump their unwanted mess all over the road. Laura, who lives on Crow Lane has spoken exclusively to the Havering Daily about the ongoing situation in the area.

“Several weeks ago, residents who have recently moved into a property here, decided they did not want their mattress so dumped it across the road. They were brazen and literally walked it across the road and just left it there.

“Everyday some people decide to just leave any old stuff including household furnishings, out on the street, or bags of rubbish just dumped there.

“We are fed up with it. There are many of us along this road that have been living here for many years and like our road and area. We try and keep it nice and clean, but sadly there are others who clearly do not care and are happy to just dump their mess anywhere they want.”

Arthur who also lives on Crow Lane and has lived there for over twenty years told the Havering Daily:

“Many of us take pride in our homes and the area we live in, many do not and they are the ones responsible for the fly tipping. There are many people who walk their dog along this road, or walk into Romford town centre, they do not want to see someone’s rubbish just thrown out on the street like that.

“Also, it is extremely unhygienic and attracts problems with rats and such.”

Residents living on Crow Lane have also expressed their concerns over the arrival of a new cafe on the former gas work site that they did not see a planning application for.

Crow Lane Ward Councillor Viddy Persaud told the Havering Daily:

“Crow lane is a hot spot for fly tipping and littering. We are constantly reporting this to council officers but as soon as it cleared new rubbish appear.  Sadly unless officers have evidence they are unable to do anything to stop this ant social behaviour.

We recently worked with land owners to clear fly tip on private land as this was also unsightly for residents.

With regards to the café on the gas works site, we have asked officers to check to see if it complies to Food Hygiene standard , we are waiting to hear the outcome.

We will continue to monitor the area for fly tipping and report to Havering Council.”

Not to mention the ton of cars parked along crow lane from the many car scrap sites, one of which blocks my view turning out my road and is very dangerous! Braithwaite Ave! I have emailed the council
