The morning of the 24 February will be one that Teddy and his family will remember for the rest of their lives. Teddy, a much loved family dog, was out with his owner, a local pensioner, for a morning walk at Collier Row Park, when he was savagely attacked by three Staffordshire Bull Terriers who were off the lead.

Teddy was so viciously attacked that he ran off and went missing for two days following the horrendous ordeal. Family members, local residents and Pippa’s Army began the search for little Teddy who is a seven year old cross between a Chihuahua and Jack Russell. He was finally found hidden nearby the park where his family rushed him straight to the vet. Sadly his wounds had become infected and he needed urgent treatment. Teddy remained in hospital for over a week receiving extensive treatment.

A family member told the Havering Daily: “A lot of his wound had to be cut away as it had become infected. He has barely eaten since the attack.

“He is home now back with us, but sadly not himself.”

It is believed the three Staffordshire Bull Terriers have previously attacked other dogs across Havering.

Now, Teddy’s family are facing incredibly high vet bills due to the urgent treatment Teddy needed. His owner is a pensioner and although all his family have come together to help, the vet bills have been over £5,000.

A Go Fund Me page has been started to help pay for Teddy’s bills. If you would like to donate, please see the link below.
