Swift work by police sees man arrested following Romford stabbing as detectives appeal for witnesses.

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Romford are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward.

Police were called at 12:53 on Tuesday, 20 February to reports of an injured man at the car park in the The Brewery, Romford.

Officers attended. At the scene witnesses reported seeing a man with a knife injury to the back.

The victim, aged 23, had left the scene and was found by officers at the hospital. Police await an update on his condition.

It appears to be an isolated incident with the victim and suspect being known to each other.

Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident. He remains in custody.

Officers from Romford Town Centre team remain in the area and will continue to provide reassurance.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage, but has not yet spoken with police, should call 101 or post on X @MetCC quoting 3260/20FEB.
