Havering’s new SEND school building gets under way.

Havering Council have started the process to build a new SEND school on Balgores Field in Gidea Park, Havering.

Councillor Oscar Ford Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said: “We have seen the number of children needing special needs support grow over the years and it is important that they can attend a school within their own borough. Not only does this make it more accessible educationally, it is the social benefits it can bring for the child and families.”

The process starts by going out to procurement, once plans have been drawn, a planning application has to be submitted which includes public consultation, giving residents the opportunity to send in letters of approval or objection.
