I will continue to stand up and fight for Romford at all opportunities.’

At Wednesday (7 February) meeting at the Town Hall in Romford, Havering Councillors agreed to scrap any proposed plans of introducing car parking charges in parks and the continuation of free Sunday parking in Romford.

St Edwards ward Councillor David Taylor gave the Havering Daily his response:

“I am pleased to see the council listened to our appeals to retain free parking on a Sunday. During scrutiny, I outlined that losing this would have a negative impact on Romford’s high street, putting our recovery at risk.

It is right that this council does what it can to support Romford and I am grateful to them for listening to our appeals.

I will continue to stand up and fight for Romford at all opportunities. This outcome is proof that it is worth doing so.”
