This is an extremely concerning situation, and one that no student should ever have to go through walking home from school.’

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham and Margaret Mullane Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, have both been contacted over the past 24 hours regarding multiple muggings happening to Harris Academy students in Rainham. Constituents have spoken of teenagers allegedly being held at knife point whilst young males take their belongings. This is an extremely concerning situation, and one that no student should ever have to go through walking home from school.

Jon Cruddas  made urgent contact yesterday, with the Police Borough Commander to ask for more police presence outside Harris Academy and the surrounding roads, as well as an action plan to combat this rise in ASB.

Jon has promised constituents that once he receives an update, he will share this publicly. Should any further incidents happen, Jon urges his constituents to contact the police immediately.
