Appeal for witnesses as two staff workers are stabbed at Goodmayes station.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing at Goodmayes Station, yesterday evening Monday 31 January.
The incident happened at approximately 10.30pm after two men were involved in an altercation with staff members at the station.
A man in his 30’s was struck to the head with a bottle causing a laceration and obtained a stab wound. A second victim, in his 40’s sustained a stab wound under his arm. They are both being treated in hospital for their injuries which are believed not to be life threatening.
Following a search of the nearby area two teenagers, one 16-year-old boy and one 17-year-old boy were located and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently in police custody.
The station was closed while forensic officers carried out an investigation of the scene – it reopened in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 1 February.
Detectives are appealing to anybody who witnessed the incident or events leading up to the incident to get in touch as soon as possible. Any information could help police establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
