VIDEO:Havering’s Heroes-Harold Hill Deer Aid.

Harold Hill Deer Aid are a group of people who truly are unsung heroes and whose work is invaluable to our communities. Respect our wildlife–Havering Heroes.

Today, we began a new weekly feature called ‘Havering’s Heroes’ where we shine a light on a person, or group of people who are unsung heroes across the borough. We look at those who do an amazing job in our community and deserve some much needed praise.

We begin this new feature by paying tribute to a group of incredible people called ‘Harold Hill Deer Aid’ who do a truly outstanding job in Havering, London and the south east rescuing our wildlife. This group of fantastic people literally are on standby morning, noon and night to rescue animals that may have been hit by cars, got stuck in a difficult situation or in need of urgent help.

The team is made up of Jan, Shantel,Mick and Laura who are phone ready to jump in their vehicles and go to the rescue of an injured animal.

Harold Hill Deer Aid is a non-funded, non-profit making voluntary group of like-minded people who are fiercely passionate in ensuring that all animals in need receive the appropriate care and attention.
Living in an area abundant with wildlife, they saw the need for a group solely focused on assisting animals in need.
They care about animals, and they care about their welfare, which also means that we keep a close eye on the environment and their habitat.
Basically, anything that may be detrimental to their well-being.
Over the years, they have not only grown in knowledge and experience, but have also grown within the network of rescue organisations they are very proud to work alongside.
The most important message they would like to get out to everyone is how grateful they are of all their precious supporters.
With kind donations and support, they are able to afford vet bills, buy essential equipment, and manage everyday running costs.
Working together, we are making a difference.

A huge shout out to Harold Hill Deer Aid for being an amazing team of volunteers who do a truly remarkable job across our community. Their work is vital- our wildlife needs to be respected and looked after, they have every right to live on this planet as we do and thanks to Harold Hill Deer Aid they are able to looked after.
