Do you know this man? Upminster resident awoke to man standing at the top of her stairs.

A Upminster lady awoke after hearing a noise and saw a man standing at the top of her stairs. The incident happened on 3 January on Boundary Road and now the lady’s niece is appealing to anyone who may recognise the male.

Carly told the Havering Daily: “Thankfully the person ran out when he saw her, sadly she couldn’t see his face as it was dark and of course he was wearing all black. He attempted to get in the flat underneath my aunt first, but was unsuccessful.

“He then attempted to get in the front door again at 4.08 am yesterday 16 January. he was picked up on next door’s doorbell, but we are not sure if it is the same male as the first time round.”

Carly is appealing to anyone who may recognise the man to come forward and call the police, as well as warning other residents.

She added: “‘Please be vigilant and lock everything up as there have been a lot of break ins around this way.”‘

Both incidents have been reported to the police.
