Keith Prince asks London Mayor to investigate claims London bus drivers refuse to stop for Jewish school children.
City Hall Conservatives Transport Spokesman Keith Prince AM has written to Sadiq Khan asking him to urgently investigate claims London bus drivers have refused to stop for Jewish school children.
The Jewish Chronicle reports two such incidents in Stamford Hill and Hackney in recent days:
“In one incident on November 26, it is alleged several Jewish schoolboys were signalling for a bus to stop on Egerton Road in Stamford Hill, north London shortly after 8am. It is alleged the driver of the 76 bus, which was travelling towards Waterloo, initially slowed down but then continued without stopping…
“Three days later on November 29, a similar incident was said to have taken place on Ravensdale Road in Hackney. A 13-year-old Jewish girl reported her bus had initially slowed down after several Jewish boys put their hands out for it to stop. However, it was claimed the driver of the 318 bus then accelerated and did not allow them on. A non-Jewish person was then permitted on board further down the road.”
In his open letter to the Mayor, Mr Prince said: “Antisemitism has no place in our great, multi-cultural city. It is reassuring to read that the Met Police are investigating but can I please seek your assurance that these alleged incidents will also be investigated as a matter of urgency by Transport for London and that appropriate action will be taken. Can you also please confirm that London bus drivers have been reminded of their obligations to treat all passengers equally and without discrimination?”

We have all heard of girls being kidnapped and forced to convert, of religious buildings being attacked, of people being arrested or murdered for not being of there religion. So, we invited people to come from those countries to the UK and assumed they would all embrace of concept of everyone is equal and their religion does not matter. New flash, it matters to them, and they will never allow equality to other religions, non-religious people or unfortunately women. Now we are seeing a growing number of people from other groups being dragged into that hatred.
