Stabbing at Romford shopping centre an isolated incident and no risk to to the wider community.

East Area police officers will be working throughout the festive period to improve public safety and have reassured the community that the stabbing incident last week at the Liberty shopping centre, was an isolated incident.

The knife attack saw a man in his 20s stabbed on Sunday 4 December just before 4pm at the busy shopping venue. Romford residents and the local community were shocked and concerned at just why a gang of men armed with knives was at their shopping centre, that is always full of families with their children.

A spokesperson for Havering Police told the Havering Daily:

“The shopping centre was closed for a period of time to allow police to conduct urgent enquiries and the incident is now under investigation by detectives. This is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.

“Over the festive period we have officers working with partners from the Local Authority and the Romford Business Improvement team improving public safety.”
