St Albans church hosts its Christmas Bazaar.
News from St Albans Ward Councillor Judith Holt.
A super day was had by all at the St. Alban Protomartyr Church Bazaar on Saturday! Father Roderick Hingley and the parishioners were pleased to welcome all the visitors from the local community to the church in Princes Road, Romford, who were able to buy Christmas decorations and gifts, try their luck at the tombolas and play games, such as Guess the Weight of the Cake, Pull a String and Guess the Number of Chocolates in the Tin. Visitors could sample mulled wine and mince pies, pick-and-mix sweets, homemade cakes and enjoy refreshments including Santa’s All-Day Breakfast at MEM’s Cafe.
Councillor Judith Holt who is also a parishioner at St. Alban’s Church, after which her Ward was named, told the Havering Daily: “Thank-you to everyone who came and helped us raise the grand total of nearly £1,300 and counting! We were pleased to welcome Andrew Rosindell M.P for Romford, who won a raffle prize, and, of course, Father Christmas! Our grateful thanks to all who helped make the day such a success.”
Councillor Holt also found the time to pop out to visit Hylands Primary School Bazaar in Hornchurch. She added:”I always enjoy visiting the only primary school in my Ward and was warmly welcomed by Mr. Bowers, the staff, parents and children,” she commented. “I was glad of the Prosecco and mince pie!”
