Harold Hill saw record crowds attend their Christmas light switch on yesterday evening. The event began in the afternoon with many stalls, fun fairs and of course Father Christmas in his grotto.

Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Consort Councillor Barry Mugglestone joined the crowds yesterday evening listening to the Romford Drum and Trumpet Corps and then help local community champion Simon Ford officially switch the lights on!

Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial was also present with a life saving Daniel Baird bleed kit that she donates across all communities.

Justin Vella was the evening’s DJ keeping the crowds entertained and counting down to the grand light switch on!

Well done to Jan Sargent, Alex Vella, Justin Vella and Ricky Hollands, the team of organisers of this event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
