‘Ho Ho Ho! Father Christmas has returned to Romford!
Yesterday, 13 November, Santa’s Grotto was officially opened in The Mercury by the Deputy Mayor of Havering, Councillor Patricia Brown.
The Deputy Mayor was joined by Brookside Theatre’s cast members from The Little Mermaid.
Celebrating its second decade in Romford, Father Christmas at the grotto said the public in Romford are “some of the nicest people we meet”.
Centre manager of The Mercury, Spencer Hawken, said: “It’s great to have Romford’s oldest running grotto back and it just goes to show that people will never tire of seeing Santa. “We will try to make this year as exceptional as we can.”
Nutcracker said he is excited to be back he added: “We’ve been meeting the children and families of Havering for over 20 years and it’s the only grotto in the area where you can come without having to book first, you can also bring your fur babies on a Wednesday until 13th December and we run autism friendly sessions everyday right up until Christmas Eve”.
