Romford Councillor praises sacking of Home Secretary and welcomes Cameron’s return.
St Edwards ward Councillor David Taylor today shares his views on yesterday’s cabinet re-shuffle.
With the news that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has sacked Suella Braverman as Home Secretary, Conservative councillor David Taylor has praised the move as being bold and necessary.
Prime Minister Sunak carried out a cabinet reshuffle following a series of controversial statements by former Home Secretary Suella Braverman. Things appeared to have come to a head over Remembrance Sunday weekend, with Braverman being linked to inciting far-right violence.
Councillor Taylor welcomed the reshuffle;
“Braverman’s comments were irresponsible and made her unsuitable for holding high office.
I, too, have concerns about some of the protests we are seeing. However, the language Braverman used was irresponsible and only served to inflame community tensions.
At such a delicate time as now, we need leaders who take more care with the words they use.
By sacking Braverman, Sunak will have upset a lot of the Conservative Party. However, this needed to happen and it was a bold decision by the PM”.
Following Braverman’s sacking, Essex MP James Cleverly was appointed Home Secretary in her place. Former Prime Minister David Cameron was appointed Foreign Secretary.
Councillor Taylor welcomed Cameron’s return.
“The world is in a tense and difficult position right now. Cameron is a statesman and I believe he will be a fantastic representative for the UK on the world stage.”

Taylor clearly has a goal of being kicked out of the local Conservatives. Every day he does more and more to prove he isn’t a Conservative, but a Lib-Dem in disguise.
If this man stands to be our tory MP, and we know he is trying to oust Andrew, then I’ll be voting Reform.
If Andrew does lose to Taylor, then he needs to stand as a Reform MP to defeat him at the ballot box. It would be a walkover.
