The Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch yesterday, Wednesday 8 November, hosted a very special afternoon for the over 50s. Many stalls from a variety of different organisations were set up in the theatre foyer for the Over 50s Forum event.

Organisations from all across the borough were present to give residents the opportunity to chat with many professionals from health care providers to support services.

Age UK My Health Matters hosted a stall run by Sharon and Suzannah. The ladies are Havering Health Champions and run regular courses on health and nutrition. These courses are free and provide endless knowledge on health care and nutrition to support all residents in the area.

Suzannah is a mental health Counsellor and Sharon is a Nutritionist and between them, they support not only health concerns but mental health and nutrition advice for residents across the borough. They do an invaluable job across Havering.

Members of Havering Asian Social and Welfare Association were also present. HASWA do a fantastic job supporting locals in Elm Park and across the Havering in general. They run regular classes daily and are frequently providing food to many across the borough.

Havering Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Consort Councillor Barry Mugglestone were present at the event to add their support to the over 50s Forum.
