Armistice protests, why it will be our police officers who will once again face the full brunt.
On Saturday 11 November, Armistice Day-London will be faced with a tidal wave of protests.
Holding these protests on Armistice Day has been a topic of controversy, with many arguing that no protests should take place across this particular weekend. Politicians have used this as another tool to hit out at our police services, but once again it will be our frontline and public order officers across London over the weekend that will lose out.
The Met has asked protesters to cancel the impending march, they have obviously disagreed and quoted that there is no justifiable reason why this march should not go ahead as it will not be going near the Cenotaph.
This is the one weekend across the country that pays special tributes to our fallen heroes and those who are still serving. It is the one weekend that allows veterans to come out and pay their respects to fallen friends who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
As politicians argue who should be cancelling it, the march will still go ahead and thousands of police officers across the country will be drafted in to help cover the capital.
This will be one of the most challenging weekends for our police officers. It is them that will face the brunt of any challenges that may arise and them that will be working extremely long hours, under some of the toughest conditions.
Whether you agree with the protests or disagree with them, it is once again our police officers that will be left to deal with the situation.
