Ricky Hayden Memorial donate life saving bleed units to east London stations.
Anti knife crime campaigners Sue Hedges and April Hayden have donated three Daniel Baird bleed units to east London tube stations in another bid to save lives.
Sue and April donate these vital life saving bleed kits in memory of their son/brother Ricky, who died in 2016 after being stabbed in the thigh.
Now, the two ladies travel all across the capital, donating Daniel Baird bleed kits to as many venues as they can in the hope that they will save a life and stop another family from losing a loved one to knife crime.
On Wednesday 1 November, the bleed units were placed at Becontree station, Upney station and Dagenham East station. Sue and April were joined by Barking and Dagenham Council Leader, Councillor Darren Rodwell, Cabinet Member for Enforcement, Council Ghani and local Safer Neighbourhood officers.
Sue told the Havering Daily:
“Thank you to Barking and Dagenham Council Leader, Councillor Darren Rodwell and Councillor Ghani for accepting these very important bleed units and supporting us .We have seen that they are vital life saving tools in our community.
“Thank you to Councillor Ghani for nominating the Ricky Hayden Memorial for these Daniel Baird bleed units.
“I would also like to thank the local Safer Neighbourhood officers from Village and River wards in Dagenham, who came out to support us.”
